I think the biggest challenge to us is Matthew 6:33. This sets itself against the human problem of having “little faith” (verse 30). The more I believe and love God the more I notice everything just falls into place. God has a way of making things work better when we’re looking at Jesus, and He has a way of hurting you until you get the message! lol

O you of little faith – is me when I am not focused. When my eyes are on the prize I can see. Then slowly I may realize the fullness of God. Then my whole body will be a light.
I love to pray, But there may be a fine line between me “babbling on like pagan idiot” and searching my heart for more to pray for and then trying to articulate it. I think I will re-read “prayer of Jabez”.
On fasting, If someone is going to go beyond our wed. (day) fast , I will be delighted to join you in support.
For me , starting in verse 25 about worrying – its not so much worrying about food and drink, or clothe. Its about attempting to want to play God in others lives. Which is basically assuming God cant or wont. ouch me of little faith !

I like Shane’s message about how God has a way of hurting us until we get the message. That is so true. I saw that happening sometimes in my life, and sometimes it hurts but that is the only way we will be able to get the message, and to learn a lesson that He wants to teach us.
I like the verse that says ” bless those who curse you”. It is sometimes hard to think and pray blessings upon those who curse us. It is easier to get angry and frustrated.
I read this one book called ” Forgive me, Natasha” about the autobiography of a russian soldier and how he ended up having to actually break gatherings of believers and beat them. In that book he said that one time when he was about to strike an old lady, he heard her praying for him and for God to forgive him, and to bless him. He said that in that instance he couldn’t move his hand, and her words followed him from there on. It is amazing how powerful it is to actually pray and bless the people that curse us or that beat us.

As a mom Matt 6:25-34 challenges me. I do trust God for our daily bread but it is also my job to plan and prepare our daily bread, so I find myself often short circuiting God’s plan by my own plans. Still learning total obedience.
