just saw your twitter posting angie and came here to give you a vote. this video is hilarious and really gets excellent points across. you should win for sure!!!!!!!!
this video is very poorly done any 5 year old with a camera could have done a better job the only reason it is doing any good is the girl is somewhat attractive and obviously has alot of friends
The views on this website only pertain to the amount of views the page in which the video is on. When this video is actually played on this website, it is linked back to the original YouTube video. The actual views for this video on YouTube is currently at 209, and yet they have 353 votes. Hmmm
Anyone that is a big Youtube user knows that most of the time embedded video views don’t count on the Youtube views page. It only counts if someone clicks to go to the video page after viewing the video. Look this up on Youtube. It’s a common issue that many people on Youtube complain about. So yes, it’s very possible for this girl to have much more views than counted on Youtube. She’s most likely directing people to this page to vote and they watch the video here and not youtube.
This is honestly what I expected to see in this contest, people sitting in front of their computer and complaining about church while trying to be humorous, but it doesn’t strike me as anything particularly outstanding. There’s nothing wrong with mediocrity, I just don’t see this strong and powerful message. I see no reason why this video is doing any better than the two videos with the lowest votes, but maybe you have been marketing it better than they have. Regardless, good luck on the home stretch.
To Anon,
You should be really ashamed of yourself. Trying to start something when you obviously haven’t checked your facts. Website embedded video views often don’t count on Youtube view counter. Google it!!! Youtube started doing it this year. This poor girl has an excellent video and doesn’t deserve the rude comments being left. Obviously, its all from another bitter contestant. I hope they are keeping record of the IP addresses that left these rude comments. Whoever is doing this should be banned from the contest. This is supposed to be a fun contest thats about bringing awareness to an important subject. Best of luck to all those who entered. There are many great videos.
Joshua Stroder aka “Determination” guy is obviously the one leaving bad comments here. ha! That’s really sad Joshua.I hope this girl wins over you. Flooding her video with your poor attitude. I love how he’s saying it needs to be a powerful message (aka gare) and his wording is just like the other bad comments. Thats really sad Joshua. I personally like this video much more than yours. I found your video Joshua to be confusing and odd. I couldnt tell what you were trying to say. I found this girls video to be fun and true. The contest asked why you don’t like church and she answered that. Go girl!!!!!!!
Actually, despite the overwhelmingly bad attitude most of this contest seems to have, I haven’t left any negative comments under ‘Anon’, ‘anonymous’, or ’someone’. I have the good will to actually put my name in, and give my honest opinion. I’ve already wished her good luck, but if you find it necessary to put someone under fire, go right ahead. I’ve already wished all the participants the best, because I know every one of us is trying very hard. If I have something outright negative to say, I have no problem saying it.
lol are you seriously comparing the two people? just because two people can rattle off an extensive vocabulary in a similar way does not mean that they are the same person. The odds of them being the same person is virtually impossible, but hey, believe what you want. For all i know they COULD be the same person, but probability is not in your favor, someone. Ill give it to her that she did answer the question that this contest posed, but she did it too blatantly, i feel. Anyone with basic literary skills and give three reasons as to why they don’t like something. I could do that by the age of three. To say the video “determination” is confusing really just shows ignorance. It may not come right out of the gate and give reasons, but instead it is left open for interpretation, much like church is supposed to inspire an interpretation of our lives directed at a better understanding of our moral code. Just because there isn’t a list of reasons doesn’t mean they didn’t answer the question, it just means they thought about it outside of the box, which film being a form of art, is a main priority. And FYI, just because something is confusing and odd, does not necessarily mean it should be cast out or down-graded, it seems as if you were a follower of religion you are completely missing the entire message. Instead people should embrace its’ difference and try to understand the message they want to speak rather than labeling it “confusing and odd”. If you missed the message they were trying to say with that video, then I’m sorry, but its not very hard to miss
The people in this contest universally disgust me. All of the name-calling, accusation throwing, conspiracy theory generation, do you people see any discrete event without trying to match it to the fact that other people must be indecent compared to your overwhelming virtue?
I don’t like church for the same reason I don’t like any organization of people. Behavior like this. I’m fine with church as a hospital for sinners or a house for the holy. Church as a house for prideful paranoids? I’ll pass.
“Show me a man or a woman alone and I’ll show you a saint. Give me two and they’ll fall in love. Give me three and they’ll invent the charming thing we call ’society’. Give me four and they’ll build a pyramid. Give me five and they’ll make one an outcast. Give me six and they’ll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they’ll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home.”
Awesome video! I think it’s exactly what the contest is about. I also think some of the other comments are from the same hateful person over and over, lol. Anyways, hope you win by far my favorite!
Why is it, amazingly, the only time this video gets increased votes is when Determination does, or on a Sunday? Without fail. This video was hundreds of votes behind three weeks ago, then two Sundays ago, 200 votes. One Sunday ago, 70 votes. Yesterday, over 40 votes. So we busted ass and got plenty more votes, a 260 lead! Then, @#$%^&, this video suddenly jumped 200 votes in two hour! But then it crawled…
Actually, we’ve been being paced by 36 votes for hours now. That’s more than a little suspicious. If you’re going to pull ahead, at least stop !@#$%^& around and pull out the stops. And yes, this is the Determination guy. I don’t have to hide to say that this is more than a little suspicious.
Amazing that you stay exactly 30 something behind the first video at all times.
I also love how everyone who comments that apparently knows you atomatically believes that everyother person commenting is the same person.
Nick by the way i think short of being one of the most self righteous atheist comments i have ever heard you do a pretty good job of sanctifying yourself. Good work on making yourself seem like the only good person in the world and that organizations our to blame for everything.
Has Angie’s video ever pulled ahead of yours? Why are you so concerned about the votes when you’ve been in first the entire time and always pull out the votes you need to stay in first just when you need them?
Derek, Is it amazing that this video stayed close behind the first place one, or is it more amazing that the other stayed just ahead at all times, no matter what?
People really have some problems tainting the whole contest with mean comments. I really don’t think that’s what a contest about finding a better church should be about.
Anyway. Nice entries everyone. Variety is good. There’s no right or wrong video. They all mean something to the maker of the video, and none deserve to be put down.
It’s sad that when you put some money out there, some people get all nasty and bitter…. even if they’re winning!
