Because we do not live on food alone, we consider the Bible more important than our next meal (Matthew 4:4).  The Bible is a big Book that contains 66 smaller Books (Genesis-Revelation).  This big Book didn’t just drop from the sky.  Every Book of the Bible was written by human beings, but every Word was also inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit (God).  Although these Words were written to people who lived thousands of years ago, every Word speaks to all people in all generations.  By the Spirit of God, we are able to discover what God was saying to the original hearers/readers of the Bible, when these Words were spoken/written, and we are also able to discover what God is saying to us today… right here, right now!

This may come as a surprise… but in order to understand the Word of God, we need to read it!    At Ekklesia, we invite you to read at least one chapter a day, Monday-Friday.  Below is our church-wide reading plan.
